Psychologist Laurie Santos was teaching at Yale when she started noticing that students seemed awfully anxious. And depressed. So she decided she should do something to help. She created a college course — “Psychology and the Good Life” — to teach students how to use what scientific research has discovered about what makes us happy and why. It became the most popular class in the 300+ year history of Yale — and it’s now a podcast, called “The Happiness Lab” hosted by Laurie Santos herself.
