Our bodies contain multitudes, sitting at the intersection of so many different identities. Some of which have been historically overlooked. Sami Schalk is an associate professor in the Department of Gender & Women's Studies at University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the author of “Black Disability Politics,”  a history of disability rights and Black activism. She says understanding Black disability politics is essential to building an accessible future.
