The "Black Panther" movies have been landmark films — the first superhero blockbusters with an African-American director and a predominantly Black cast. They’ve also sparked a lively dialogue – and sometimes sharp critiques — about how Hollywood tells stories about Africa. At a conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Anne Strainchamps talked with Kenyan performance scholar Mshai Mwangola and other African scholars about their perspectives on "Black Panther."
