Step foot on any college campus and you'll likely hear the phrase "check your privilege" at some point. It's part of a new wave of so-called political correctness aimed at protecting students against offensive words or ideas. Free speech advocate Greg Lukianoff believes universities are coddling students in the name of emotional well-being. In an Atlantic cover story he coauthored earlier this year, he argues it can even have damaging effects on their mental health.
